There is no such thing as a bad writer.

To understand Maescribes is to understand me, and although the business is newly born, my experience with writing, editing, and proofreading is decades-long. My most recent publication is a feature story published in April of 2022, and my first was in 1992 for our local newspaper when I was a senior in high school.
Quiet as a child in Western Massachusetts, writing was my outlet, my way to release emotions, yes, but also to bring to life creative ideas and silliness that was at times trapped by my shy nature. In elementary and high school, writing was my voice, my communication with family in other states, and also how I connected with friends. I still have a box of notes from my dear friends folded into small, two-by-two inch squares. It was like texting in the 1980’s. Back then, it was blue ink on lined paper torn from metal coils, then typewritten notes, until high school introduced me to computers and word processors.
After high school I became consumed with my family and raising four young sons, so my writing was limited to penning paper letters to my husband overseas and to older family members who had not yet embraced the internet. I bounced back-and-forth between Massachusetts and North Carolina, and now I am here to stay. While in Massachusetts, I worked as an intern in the office of the president at Westfield State University, and also with my mentor, Janice Beetle, a book developer and content creator in Massachusetts. I honed my skill as a writer, became comfortable and proficient with the spoken word, and realized my strength as an expert communicator. In 2020, I graduated summa cum laude and earned my Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in writing.
My publications include press releases, poetry, and feature stories. Meeting with a new friend and listening to their tale fascinates me. I am a good listener and curious by nature, and would love to translate your stories onto paper. People have a lot to tell, but sometimes the words escape them, and that’s why I am here. I have helped many edit and proofread their works of many kinds, and thought one day I could do something like that for others, so here I am. I have an acute vision for online branding, a good eye for the written word, and I have an internal highlighter which can spot an error swiftly and completely. Contact me to learn more.
When I’m not writing, I love gardening, tending to my animals, and spending time sitting around a fire with friends and family. I write every day in my blog about my life, family, and silly nonsense. If you wish to know more about me, click HERE to view my page.
